The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly impacted us all. I decided to run for District Attorney because I wanted to ensure that all residents of this great city can feel safe in their neighborhoods. And that includes safety during the pandemic, which has created many new and evolving challenges for us. There's been an increase in domestic violence, drug overdoses, and mental health crises. But the research has shown that areas with high vaccination rates report lower instances of violent crime.
For this reason, we must come together as we've always done in times of crisis and get vaccinated. And if you need any help, our office has non-profits throughout New Orleans standing by to provide resources and assistance. So get vaccinated, get your booster dose, and reach out to one of our partners if you need help. Let's get through this together.
